By August 6, 2013 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the games industry, welcomes Marvelous Games as its latest member.

Marvelous Games is the digital brand of MAQL Europe, a subsidiary of MarvelousAQL, Inc. of Japan – which is the result of the 2011 merger between Japanese publishers Marvelous Entertainment, AQ Interactive, and mobile/ social developer Liveware. Known for acclaimed console games like No More Heroes and Harvest Moon, Marvelous AQL has also enjoyed critical and commercial success in Japan with social and mobile games like Logres of Swords and Sorcery and Three Kingdoms.

MAQL Europe partners with developers around the world who need help with development funding, user acquisition, monetisation, PR and marketing for their games.

The organisation was set up in March 2012, and it has actively been working with indie developers from Europe and around the world.

With nine games from a variety of indie developers scheduled for release from now until the end of 2013, it is excited about the future.

Eyes Attack, developed by a Russian indie developer, is one of the games: a quirky tilt/shoot blaster with a big heart which launches on August 1.

Harry Holmwood, CEO of MAQL Europe, said:

“The video games market is a fast-changing space that poses a number of challenges and risks to game publishers and developers alike. We’ve found the best way to stay ahead of the curve is to surround ourselves with some of the smartest industry people around, and TIGA has been a great resource in connecting us with the UK’s best and brightest. We’re looking forward to getting ever more involved with TIGA going forward.”

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, said:

“Independent game developers are the lifeblood of the videogame industry so we are delighted to welcome Marvelous Games as a TIGA member because of their keen desire to support and work with indie game developers. We look forward to working with MAQL and connecting them with indie developers in the months and years ahead.”
