TIGA ‘s focus is to make the UK best place in the world to develop video games. Our campaign to drive the video games industry forward involves TIGA meeting with politicians from key political parties, policy makers and civil servants, engaging with the media and publishing reports which set the agenda for the.

We have a track record of influencing Government policy in order to strengthen the video games sector. TIGA has successfully campaigned for:

  • improvements to the R&D Tax Credits in 2011 (with other organisations)
  • improvements to the Shortage Occupation List 2013
  • the introduction of Video Games Tax Relief (2008 – 2014), a measure that effectively reduces the cost of games development
  • a Prototype Fund to support early stage development studios (this is now operational in the form of the UK Games Fund (2015)
