TIGA welcomes Lockwood Publishing as its latest member

By June 4, 2013 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK
games industry, is delighted to welcome Lockwood Publishing as its latest
member.

The company started in 2005 but things took off when
it started working with Sony on PlayStation@Home in 2008. Since then it has
worked on more than 60 projects with Sony as well as published its own games
and virtual items.

It is best known for the Sodium games on
PlayStation@Home but it is also popular for the thousands of virtual items it
has  published. Lockwood Published was
voted Best Developer four times in a row by the users of Playstation@Home.

Currently, Lockwood Publishing is working on its
first mobile title

Halli Bjornsson, director of Lockwood Publishing, said:

“TIGA is
proving to be a potential catalyst for the UK games industry with their
relentless work on our competitive financial environment as well as other
areas. As I learned more about TIGA’s work it seemed just wrong not to join and
help in any way.””

Dr Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO, said:

“Lockwood Publishing not only shows the virtue of organic
business growth but also the strength of independent talent. Lockwood
Publishing has gained the respect of other developers and gamers and the company
has been awarded one of the highest accolades in the industry by winning ‘Best
Developer’ four times in a row by the users of Playstation@Home. Halli Bjornsson and Joel
Kemp (co-founder and director of Lockwood Publishing) are great game developers
and everyone at TIGA is looking forward to working with them.””
