TIGA welcomes Bearshotgun Software as its latest member

By December 19, 2013 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the video game industry, has welcomed Bearshotgun Software, a London based studio focused on iOS app and game development, as its latest member.

Bearshotgun is a small, tight-knit team, which creates innovative and entertaining games and apps that its staff themselves would like to play. With more than 25 years of combined experience the team lives to make software people love. The studio is particularly proud of its attention to detail and capabilities in the field of music and sound design, as the team feels this area of indie game development can sometimes be neglected given the pressure on resources many businesses face.

In addition to making its own games, Bearshotgun also provides a range of professional services to other brands and developers, from custom apps to PR advice and sound design.

Bearshotgun’s first game A Round of Zolf is available now on Android and iOS, and sees the sole survivor of the zombie apocalypse defending themselves with a golf club, some golf balls, a teleportation matrix, and a bunch of other highly illegal and very unsafe devices. The team’s first app is also available on iOS, Misfortune Cookies Box puts a fun twist on the typical fortune cookie formula by providing virtual magical cookies which predict the users misfortune, accompanied with some gentle and witty ribbing.

The new studio is very proud of its work so far, and with two more fun, innovative games in the pipeline, one an action physics puzzler, and the other a unique game that makes very innovative use of the second screen, the future looks bright indeed for Bearshotgun Software.

Khalil Dimachkie, Managing Director, Bearshotgun Software, said:

“We’re very pleased to be part of TIGA. As a new gaming start-up it can be very hard to connect with other businesses or experts, and get any kind of support or advice. We’ve found TIGA to be very valuable because of the networking opportunities it provides, as well as great advice it offers and other cost-saving member resources.

“We also believe TIGA has values very similar to our own and really appreciate the work that has been done in lobbying on behalf of the games industry and providing a supportive environment for indies. Both of Bearshotgun’s currently live products epitomise the spirit of what we are trying to do – more than anything else we want to create something fun that brings a little bit of joy into people’s lives.

Dr Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO added:

“We warmly welcome Bearshotgun to TIGA. As the network for developers and digital publishers, we have studios in our membership and on our board that range from one-person freelancers to small-team start-ups to studios with hundreds of developers.

“The injection of fresh talent with new ideas is great for our membership base and our industry. I look forward to helping Khalil and the rest of the team build relationships across the video game industry, and seeing them share their experience and expertise with our other members too.”
