TIGA Supports E4's 'Grand Master Flash' Search for a Young Designer

By August 4, 2009 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK’s games industry, today announced it is supporting E4’s Grand Master Flash award to find the UK’s most talented young flash designer.

The competition, called ‘Grand Master Flash’ is open to all and offers a £5,000 first prize, plus a copy of Adobe’s Creative Suite 4 Master Collection (worth £2,400). Any Flash game made in the past 12 months can be entered, or entrants can submit games made especially for the competition. All entries must be uploaded to the E4 website by August 17, 2009.

To support the competition TIGA will be offering the winner and two runners up the chance to showcase their work on the tiga.org home page and in the top portfolios section – a space designed to profile new talent.

Lorna Evans, TIGA project manager stated: “The £5,000 first prize is a great incentive to enter, but we also want to help young talent in the long term, by providing them with a route to showcase their work to potential employers in the games industry.”

Jody Smith, Editor of E4.com said: “More people are making and playing web games than ever before. On E4 Games, we're lucky to already be working with some of the best game developers the web has to offer, and by holding this competition we're looking to find a whole new batch of genius game creators to celebrate and reward the work they do.”

The deadline for entry is 10am precisely on Monday 17 August 2009. Soon after, the judging panel will sift through all the entries and pick their favourites. Then shortlisted entries will then go to a public vote on the E4 website.
