TIGA’s success in Global Business Excellence Awards confirms TIGA as effective champion of game developers and digital publishers

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, has won two Global Business Excellence Awards: one for Outstanding Public Relations and one for Outstanding Marketing Campaign. TIGA’s success demonstrates that it is an exemplar of business excellence, focused on powering its members’ growth. TIGA has won ten business awards and has been nominated as a finalist in a further nine categories over the last two years.

Dr Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO, said:

“At TIGA we know what we stand for – developers and digital publishers. We know what we want to achieve – to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business; and we know how to accomplish this – by enabling developers and digital publishers to set up and grow strong, sustainable, independent businesses.

“At TIGA we believe that trade associations should not be lethargic old boys clubs. TIGA believes that trade associations should be exemplars of business excellence, focused on powering their members’ growth. For TIGA to win two Global Business Excellence Awards demonstrates that we operate a highly effective business that delivers results for our members.”

Previous winners of the Global Excellence Awards include EDF Energy, E.ON Energy, HSBC, and Lloyds Banking Group. TIGA was awarded two Global Business Awards in recognition of its public affairs and marketing campaigns, including for Games Tax Relief.

Commenting on the award to TIGA for Outstanding Marketing Campaign, judge Charles Clarke said:

“TIGA ran an impressive, integrated marketing and communications campaign which resulted in British developers winning tax relief from the government for what they do well – developing and selling exciting video games.  The TIGA campaign more than met many of its ambitious targets and achieved a series of successful outcomes. Congratulations to TIGA on excellent work.”

Jason Kingsley, TIGA Chairman and CEO and Creative Director at Rebellion, said:

“Winning these two Global Business Excellence Awards shows that UK developers and digital publishers have a professional and effective champion in TIGA. During 2012 TIGA will focus on supporting the growth and viability of more independent content creators and digital publishers and continue to strive for business excellence.

“Businesses are more likely to achieve sustainable success if they secure external advice.  Start-ups and small studios in the UK do not have to soldier on alone: with TIGA they can get a helping hand. TIGA is run by UK developers and digital publishers for UK developers and digital publishers. TIGA provides expert advice, networking, discounts on key business services and a champion in media and political circles.”
