excellence and to commend business proficiency in the games industry.

“Our ‘Games Categories’ are open to all and free to
enter. They provide an opportunity to highlight the current achievements of our
industry and to applaud promising start-ups, debut games and students.

“TIGA wants to ensure that the achievements of smaller
studios are recognised. For this reason, five of our ‘Games Categories’ will
make awards to both small and larger studios.”

“TIGA’s success as an organisation depends on the
commitment and expertise of our members. We have therefore introduced ‘Business
of Games Categories’ to salute the achievements of our members and to encourage
business excellence.

“The TIGA Awards offer a wonderful opportunity to
celebrate industry success and we are delighted to be hosting our Awards at the
excellent ExPlay festival in Bath.”

Jason Kingsley, TIGA Chairman and CEO and Creative Director at
Rebellion, said:

“TIGA was set up by games developers many years ago
when there was no representation for our development community. At TIGA
we aim to champion and strengthen the UK games industry as a whole. The TIGA
Awards celebrate excellence in our ever changing industry and encourage future
talent. The ‘Business of Games Categories’ reward TIGA members and recognise
high performance businesses.
“TIGA is a not for profit organisation and is committed
to supporting organisations and causes that assist young and vulnerable people.
Our charity partner for this event is SpecialEffect, which is dedicated to helping ALL young people with disabilities to
enjoy computer games.”

Ella Romanos, CEO, Remode Studios, and TIGA board
member, said:

“We are lucky to have an incredibly
talented set of developers in the UK that continue to make the British games
industry grow and grow. It is important that we celebrate and support all our
developers and publishers, which is why we are so excited to be hosting the
first TIGA Awards at this year’s ExPlay Festival in Bath.”

Korash Sanjideh, ExPlay festival director, said:

“The TIGA Awards will help
celebrate and promote the most creative and far-reaching developers and
publishers in the UK. It is with great pride that we are looking forward to the
awards taking place at the second ExPlay festival in Bath this November.”
