By September 27, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA,the trade association representing the UK games industry is pleased to announce
SpecialEffect as the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2012, charity partner.

SpecialEffect
is the only UK charity dedicated to helping all people with disabilities to
enjoy video games. TIGA is a not for profit organisation and is committed to
supporting organisations and causes that assist young and vulnerable people.

Dr Mick
Donegan, SpecialEffect's director, said:

“SpecialEffect
are delighted to be the partner charity for the first TIGA awards. We are a
specialist team working one-to-one with severely disabled people to help them
to access and enjoy videogames. Just as importantly, we also provide a free,
expert service to all games developers to make their games accessible to as
many people as possible, regardless of their disability. All funds raised on
the night will help us to meet the rapidly growing demand for our services from
disabled people and developers right across the UK.”

Dr
Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA said:

“I
am very pleased to have SpecialEffect as the TIGA Awards charity partner. Both
organisations share a belief in inclusive gaming and a passion for
accessibility in technology, an element of technological innovation we hope to
see in some of the entries submitted this year.”
