TIGA CEO Shortlisted for Director Award

The CEO of TIGA, theorganisation representing the games industry, has been shortlisted for this
year’s finals of the Director of the Year Awards. Dr Richard Wilson is among 10
nominees hoping to win the public/third sector category of an awards event held
by the Institute of Directors. The winner will be announced on October 5, 2012
in London.

Dr Richard Wilson
is up against James Dunbar, chief executive of New Start Highland; Jonathan
Carter director (chief executive) of Jersey Heritage; Dr Lena C Wilson, chief
executive of Scottish Enterprise; Karyn McCluskey, co-director of the Scottish
Violence Reduction Unit; Seamus O’Prey, chief executive of Ortus; Robert
Varley, operations and services director of the Met Office; Stephen Maddock,
chief Executive of CBSO – City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra; Jo Bradley,
executive director of the Groundwork Greater Nottingham; and Ian B Perry, the
CE Harvest Housing Group/Transition Executive Director of Your Housing Group
(formally Harvest).

Dr Richard Wilson said:

a real honour to have been nominated for this award which is recognition of the
superb performance of the entire TIGA team. Together we have enhanced TIGA’s
productivity, improved our membership services and above all delivered Games
Tax Relief. This tax relief will make a real difference to many games
developers and digital publishers in the UK videogame industry.”
