TIGA Announces Partnership with The Prince’s Trust

By May 3, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association
representing the UK games industry, today announced that it will be supporting
youth charity The Prince’s Trust to help disadvantaged young people in the East
of England to turn their lives around.

TIGA will
be committing resources to The Prince’s Trust Development Awards.  The
Trust’s Development Awards provide
cash to help young people access education, training and employment. Last year
more than three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust moved into
work, training or education.

Jason Kingsley, TIGA
Chairman and CEO and Creative Director at Rebellion, will also be providing
support and expertise to The Trust’s Enterprise Programme, which helps young
people move into self-employment.

Dr Richard Wilson, TIGA
CEO, said:

“As a not-for-profit business, TIGA strives to be
excellent in everything that we do. TIGA is committed to excellence in
corporate social responsibility and so we are naturally delighted to be able to
work with The Prince’s Trust, one of the UK’s most respected charities and one
which makes a tangible difference to the lives of so many young people.”

Jason Kingsley, TIGA
Chairman and CEO and Creative Director at Rebellion, said:

“The Prince’s Trust is a superb
organisation that inspires young people to strive for great heights. TIGA is
determined to support The Prince’s Trust in its endeavours and we are pleased
to be able to support the Development Awards. I am also personally looking
forward to engaging with budding entrepreneurs about the challenges and the
satisfaction that comes with running a business.”

Charlie Baxter, fundraising
manager for The Prince’s Trust in the East of England, said:

“The Prince’s Trust gives young
people the skills and confidence to help them find a job. With youth
unemployment recently reaching record highs, is it imperative that we work with
organisations like TIGA to provide young people in the area with the support
they need and deserve to move into the workplace.”
