TIGA and UKTI turn the Spotlight onto UK Games Businesses at gamescom 2011

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, is turning the spotlight on the UK video games industry this week in
Cologne at Gamescom. The UK is the official partner country at Gamescom,
the trade fair for video games held at the Koelnmesse in Cologne,
Germany, which runs from August 17th – 21st. TIGA and a delegation of UK
companies are exhibiting at this year’s show via the UKTI Trade Access
Programme and TIGA will oversee the UK's official presence and promotion
at the event. Dr Richard Wilson will represent the UK games industry to
The Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics
and Technology, Mr Hans-Joachim Otto, the Mayor of Cologne, Jürgen
Roters, and the Minister for Federal Affairs, Europe and Media of North
Rhine Westphalia, Dr. Angelica Schwall-Düren.

The UK businesses attending are Attractive Entertainment, Asylum
Entertainment, Outsource media UK, Doublesix, ICO Partners, Interactive
Selection, Hello Games, Natural Motion and Games Masters. The TIGA team
will be exhibiting in hall 4.2 stand J051 in the UK pavilion.

To celebrate our selection as partner country, UKTI & TIGA have
also created an additional programme for UK companies attending this
year’s show. The purpose is to increase the visibility of all of
British businesses, create valuable networking opportunities and a value
for money package which brings businesses together to raise the profile
of the UK games industry as a whole. There will be tours, a roundtable
event, networking and opportunities to meet with companies such as
Bigpoint, Wooga, Koch media, Rebel Play and presentations from industry
speakers such as Guilliaume de Fondaumiere of Quantic Dream. For more
