TIGA, the
trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Thorsten
Distler
– Creative Translations as their
newest member.

Thorsten
has been offering first-rate translation services to the video
games industry around the world since 2003. At a fair price, fast, flexible,
and on time he draws upon the experience of over 4 million translated and
corrected words and his insights from on-site projects.

Thorsten has worked on such popular titles as Fallout 3.

He took care of the review of the complete game
assets including diverse expansions, totalling over 500,000 words. Apart from
that, he has worked on various other well-known titles such as Football Manager 2006, FIFA Street 2012,
PES 2013, Deca Sports 3, Children of
Mana, Wallace and Gromit’s Grand
Adventures, Curse of the Were-Rabbit,
and Shaun the Sheep.

The freelancer offers creative translations, proofreading and QA (bug
fixing) with a very professional approach and fast turnaround on projects.

Thorsten Distler explains the reasons why he decided to join TIGA:

“I would like to take the texts
of TIGA’s UK developers and publishers to the next level, thus giving them the
linguistic key they need to enter the dynamic German games market. I want to
enable TIGA members to impress their customers with high calibre texts and
constructive translation solutions that are really fit for the German market. A
translation should always sound as if written directly in German.”

Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO welcomed Thorsten to TIGA:

“95 per cent of UK games developers and digital publishers export at
least some of their games. Freelancers like Thorsten can assist UK games
businesses to succeed in overseas markets. TIGA welcomes Thorsten Distler – Creative
Translations to the growing TIGA network.”
