4G Mobile Service Will Help UK Videogame Developers

By August 21, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, has welcomed the forthcoming launch of a 4G mobile service.

Telecoms regulator Ofcom has allowed Orange and T-Mobile network owner
Everything Everywhere to use its existing bandwidth to launch
fourth-generation mobile services.
It will allow for faster downloads and it can be launched any time from September 11 although there is no firm date as yet.

Dr Richard Wilson said:

“This
is great news. Faster connections will encourage people to download
apps on the move and it will also open up possibilities for games
developers which rely on fast connections for their games.

“Fast broadband and mobile services are vital for modern day technology where audiences expect to be connected at all times.”
