University of Hertfordshire, Animation and Games Design ranks in the Guardian league table at 100%

By October 13, 2022 No Comments

The University of Hertfordshire continues to rise in the national league tables, leaping up 16 places to 74th in the UK in the new 2023 Guardian University Guide.

The Guardian league table also ranked the University first nationally for both Animation & Game Design and Paramedic Science, and in the top 10 institutions for Social Work, Children’s Nursing and Economics. The Guardian’s Value Added metric, designed to indicate the impact of teaching on a student throughout their university journey, saw Herts rise an impressive 51 places from 75th to 19th – demonstrating the transformational learning experience that students enjoy.

This news follows the recent release of The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide, which also saw Hertfordshire move up the rankings by five places to 91st in the UK. The University’s strong performance in the 2021 REF results is reflected in our increase of 26 places in The Times’ research quality measure, as we continue to prioritise research activity that enriches teaching and has significant societal impact.

The league tables continue a successful year for Herts after positive results in the Complete University Guide in June. Vice Chancellor Professor Quintin McKellar reacted to the news, commenting:

“I am delighted to see our latest rise in the national rankings. This is credit to the consistent hard work of our staff and Students’ Union, who continue to provide a fantastic experience for students in and out of the classroom.

“We are continuing to cement our reputation for high-quality teaching, research excellence and exciting career prospects, and I’m proud to see this reflected in the achievements of our students, staff and alumni, as well as in the league tables. As we begin the academic year, we look forward to continuing this journey with our new students”.
