United Command International joins TIGA

By May 15, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games
industry, today announced United Command International as their newest member.

United
Command International
is a leading independent mobile games publisher. Operating for just over two years in the iOS market, the enterprise has
achieved several chart topping hits on the App store. The business has a portfolio of over 71 gaming titles across the iOS and
Android platforms and specialises in casual, social, and arcade titles for
casual and “busy gamers”.

 United
Command has held numerous chart positions on the iOS App Store including number
one positions on the free app charts. A number of titles have been featured in
print magazines and trade publications globally, including full page coverage
in iPhone Biweekly magazine.

They have
been developing a new platform for real-time strategy / simulation games for 9
months which will roll out in Q4 2012 across multiple platforms including iOS,
Android and potentially Xbox live and Windows Phone.

Adam Cheong, Director of Research and
Development at United Command explains the reason why he decided to join TIGA:

“We've seen tremendous growth over the
last year with our usage levels more than doubling for which I can only express
my heartfelt thanks to our loyal players. As a British start-up we wanted to
celebrate our heritage and good fortune to participate in the UK games
industry. We relish the opportunity to learn from and share experience with our
British peers as we move from strength to strength, growing our market share in
this extremely lucrative segment and believe TIGA the perfect place to
accomplish this.”

Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO welcomed
the organisation to TIGA:

“The mobile
games software market was worth $7.9 billion in 2011 and should be worth over
$12 billion by 2013. This market offers great opportunities for developers and
publishers such as United Command International, a company which has had great
success in this space already. TIGA is working to enable the growing number of
mobile and tablet developers and publishers to succeed in this exciting market,
as exemplified by the TIGA Mobile and Tablet Games Conference in March. We
welcome United Command International to TIGA and look forward to working with
them in the months and years ahead.”
