By March 7, 2013 Press Releases

TIGA, thetrade association representing the UK games industry, has welcomed Totem Games
as its latest member.

The two-man
games studio headed up by Matt Cavanagh was formed in June 2011 following the
closure of Bizarre Creations.

To date, Totem
has created two titles: SpaceOff, a two player arcade shooter
and Free Quiz, a free trivia game. Both are available on iOS with SpaceOff also
available on Android via Thumbstar games.

SpaceOff was a
finalist in the 2012 TIGA games industry awards and has been created solely by
Mr Cavanagh.

Totem is currently
busy working on an update to Free Quiz as well as developing a new unannounced
title. The latest update to Free Quiz will be on the App Store soon and it will
add many new features to the game including a new game mode, online
leader-boards and more questions.

Matt Cavanagh, owner of Totem
Games Ltd, said:

“TIGA is committed to the future of
the UK games industry and understands the importance of small independent
studios.  Micro-studios like Totem do not
have the level of resources and experience held by the larger studios and so
the expertise and guidance that TIGA offers to developers like ourselves is
invaluable.”

Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA,
said:

“Small, independent studios are the
lifeblood of the current videogame industry, bringing fresh ideas and
creativity to the sector. Totem Games is an example of the positivity which can
emerge from a negative situation, in this case the closure of Bizarre Creations
and it is an example of the emerging, diverse scene in the North West of
England.”
