TIGA welcomes LoopMe as its latest member

TIGA, the trade association representing the video game industry, has welcomed LoopMe, a leader in social mobile advertising, as its latest member.

LoopMe’s in-app SDK offers developers a new method of monetising apps via social mobile advertising. By adding voting functionality such as Like, Dislike, Stop and Share, mobile and in-app advertising becomes more effective which works particularly well for social games on smartphones and tablets. This empowers consumers and allows them to socially discover adverts, improving the overall user experience. In turn, this provides better results for advertisers and increased monetisation for developers and publishers. Discovering great games at the right time and place equates to great content for consumers, their friends, and the people that trust them.

LoopMe was founded in 2011 by experienced mobile advertising executives Stephen Upstone, CEO and Marco Van de Bergh, CTO, who were previously in leadership roles at mobile advertising pioneers Ad Infuse and Velti. Stephen and Marco were joined at Board level by Russell Buckley, the first employee of AdMob and Kate Burns, the first employee at Google Europe and former CEO of AOL International.

Also of interest may be LoopMe’s findings, based on data from 25 million consumer mobile advert viewers, which demonstrated the UK is currently the country with the highest number of mobile advert “likers” globally and that overall more consumers liked ads than disliked when giving the option to rate them. The UK data, taken from June to August 2013, shows 10.21% of the users that clicked on ads liked them, and only 2.02% disliked them, interestingly, 1.72% were also motivated to share adverts.

TIGA members who would like to find out more about social mobile advertising for their games can download LoopMe’s demo app here. More of LoopMe’s survey findings are also available here.

Recent product enhancements from LoopMe include a “Share to Facebook” option as a new social feedback feature for adverts. The team is currently working on a “Share to Twitter” feature, due to be released shortly. LoopMe is also starting to use its social feedback data to enable more detailed and accurate segmentation, to serve better targeted ads and further improve the customer experience. LoopMe has advertising and publisher partnership agreements with the majority of the world’s biggest games publishers.

Stephen Upstone, CEO, LoopMe, commented:

“LoopMe is joining TIGA to further strengthen its relationships in the games industry, foster new connections, and expand our network. LoopMe is a strong partner for monetisation, user acquisition and provides unique insights into the social behaviour and preferences of mobile ad consumers. Our connections with the wider gaming industry are essential for us to continually innovate better ad experiences for gamers on a global scale. We greatly value the opportunity to be involved in TIGA’s industry meet-ups and hope our membership will help us continually learn about the latest and greatest in mobile gaming in the UK and beyond.”

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, added:

“It’s great to see the highest calibre of tech and marketing businesses, like LoopMe, joining the TIGA network. Digital marketing and monetisation expertise and technical support could be of huge value to all our developer and digital publisher members. We warmly welcome LoopMe as new members of TIGA and look forward to seeing them at our events to connect with and support the rest of our membership base. Innovative service providers like LoopMe are increasingly important for UK games businesses looking to fulfil their global potential.”
