TIGA, the trade association representing the UK’s video games industry, has revealed the winners of the TIGA UK Games Education Awards 2024.
These awards recognise outstanding students, education providers and best practice.
The winners were announced in a virtual ceremony on Friday October 11th 2024.

Creative Assembly, the 37-year-old developer and creator of the Total War franchise, which spans history and fantasy, and the critically acclaimed tension and thrill of Alien: Isolation, is the Headline Sponsor of the TIGA UK Games Education Awards 2024.

Innovative Teaching Award
Sheffield Hallam University
The Award was presented for the work the lecturers at Sheffield Hallam University did on introducing a gamification system for continual assessment, which has delivered excellent student results.
Excellence in University/College – Industry Collaboration
Staffordshire University
Staffordshire University was recognised for this Award because of its introduction of a system of industry-led mock interviews for final year students. Over 300 mock interviews took place.
Excellence in Games Research
Birmingham City University
Birmingham City University lecturers have driven advances in technology to make game development more accessible and inclusive. Lecturers focused on providing speech and eye gaze interaction capabilities to Unreal Engine’s editor, empowering individual with physical disabilities who cannot use mouse and keyboard.
Diversity
University of Greenwich
The University won this accolade due to its record in terms of diversity amongst its student cohorts, as well as amongst its industry guest speakers. 50% of guest speakers were women. A significant proportion of students are from a diverse background.
