TIGA publishes summary of Gambling Commission advice

By August 16, 2018 Press Releases

TIGA has published a summary of the guidance provided by the Gambling Commission for video games companies.

Following engagement with the Gambling Commission, TIGA has published this document as a way of helping its members ensure that customers – particularly young people – are enjoying games in a safe and fun way, without being exposed to the risks associated with gambling.

The document examines a range of different issues and intends to help games developers be aware of what constitutes licensable activity under the Gambling Act 2005.

TIGA members can request a copy of the paper by emailing suzi@tiga.org.

Dr Richard Wilson OBE, Chief Executive of TIGA, said:

“It is important that people of all ages can enjoy video games in a safe environment, which is why TIGA has been engaging with the Gambling Commission and produced this paper. We will continue to monitor developments and engage with the Gambling Commission on these issues.”
