By July 31, 2024 No Comments

Nominations for the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2024 close on August 2nd, so if you haven’t done so already, now is the time to enter. And here we speak to TIGA’s CEO Dr Richard Wilson OBE to get the full rundown on the event…

What’s new with the TIGA Games Industry Awards 2024?
This year’s TIGA Awards promises to be a truly exceptional event, brimming with excitement and innovation. We’re thrilled to introduce several new elements that reflect the dynamic nature of our industry.

First and foremost, we’re excited to announce that creative studio Toikido will once again be sponsoring our After-Show Party. Known for their innovative collaborations, Toikido will undoubtedly help us to create an unforgettable celebration.

Beyond the party, we’ve introduced three new award categories: Best Use of a Licence, Narrative/Storytelling, and Co-Development Partner. These additions highlight our commitment to recognising excellence across all sectors of the industry.

There is a category for everyone – and you can find the full list here. It’s worth noting that the awards are free to enter, although to enter the Business categories, you need to be a TIGA member. If you’re not, you can discover more about benefits of membership beyond the awards here.

Finally, we’re also delivering three special awards: Outstanding Employer 2024, Outstanding Individual 2024, and Game of the Year (voted by attendees). These awards celebrate exceptional contributions to our industry.

TIGA always chooses unique venues to host the Games Industry Awards. Tell us about this year’s venue.
We’re delighted to host the TIGA Awards 2024 at the iconic Shoreditch Town Hall. This historic venue is more than just a building; it’s a testament to innovation, progress, and community spirit.

This spirit of innovation and forward-thinking perfectly aligns with the values of our industry. The Town Hall’s rich history, particularly its role as a boxing venue, speaks to its ability to bring people together and foster a sense of community. This echoes the unifying power of games, which have the potential to connect people from all walks of life.

Hosting the TIGA Awards here is not only a celebration of our industry but also a homage to a building that has shaped the cultural landscape of London. It’s a place where history meets the future, and we can’t wait to create an unforgettable evening that honours both.
