Ring the Bells: TIGA Games Industry Awards Open for Entries

TIGA, the network for video games developers and digital publishers, has today announced that its fifth annual Games Industry Awards are open for entry and that the Ceremony will take place at Christ Church, Spitalfields.

The TIGA Games Industry Awards 2016 will feature:

  • 34 Award Categories;
  • ITN Productions as a media partner;
  • SpecialEffect to be TIGA’s charity partner;
  • a glittering ceremony at the spectacular Christ Church Spitalifields, a restored Hawksmooor Baroque church, in London’s East End.

The TIGA Games Industry Awards will be held on Thursday November 10th 2016. The deadline for entries is 23:59 p.m. on August 12th 2016.

 

The TIGA Games Industry Awards uniquely recognises excellence in games development, business and education. The Awards also celebrate the achievements of both small and large games development studios. The TIGA Games Industry Awards combine the expertise of a judging panel of industry professionals with a public vote for the ‘Game of the Year’.

The award ceremony will take place at the spectacular Christ Church Spitalifields, a restored Hawksmooor Baroque church situated in the heart of London’s vibrant East End.

There are 34 categories which are divided in two groups: the ‘Games Awards’ which are open to the entire industry, and the ‘Business Of Games Awards’ which are reserved for TIGA members. There are two special Awards (reserved for TIGA members): ‘Game Of The Year’, which is chosen by the development community through a public vote; and ‘Outstanding Individual  Of The Year’, which is chosen by TIGA judges.

The 2016 Awards are supported by some of the leading lights of the video games industry:

TIGA’s charity partner for the 2016 Awards is once again SpecialEffect, a terrific organisation dedicated to using technology to enhance the quality of life of people with physical disabilities through video games.
