South Yorkshire has been designated as the first Investment Zone in the UK, focusing on Advanced Manufacturing. The cities of Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, and Barnsley are expected to benefit from approximately 8,000 new jobs and £1.2 billion of private funding by 2030.
The Investment Zone has garnered support from Boeing, Spirit AeroSystems, Loop Technology, and the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), with an initial investment of over £80 million.
The South Yorkshire Investment Zone, centred around Advanced Manufacturing, aims to leverage over £1.2 billion in private funding and support more than 8,000 jobs by 2030.
