Norwich University of the Arts has released the Executive Summary of its Games Report, which details how the industry can unlock the growth potential of studios and wider ecosystem in Norfolk and Suffolk.
The report, which includes a Foreword from TIGA CEO Dr Richard Wilson OBE, sets out how the region has:
- A highly skilled, available workforce
- The potential to enhance the capability and efficiency of other areas of the economy
- World class research assets and a growing knowledge base
- A network of experienced Games professionals whose expertise could join up the business eco-system
- A vibrant community of indie games businesses with ideas in development.
The report also recommends six interventions critical for games growth for the East:
- Retaining graduate talent
- Develop a regional Games Fund
- Focus on cross-sector opportunities
- Strengthen mid-career skills development
- Establish an annual industry showcase
- Mapping of regional games infrastructure
