Role for Creative Industries in Growth Review

By November 30, 2010 Press Releases

TIGA today backed Vince Cable’s (Business Secretary) call for businesses to take part in a growth review to aid a private sector-led economic recovery. Mr Cable will launch consultations on six sectors including the creative industries. Mr Cable and George Osborne, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, will preside over a new committee to ensure that each sector has an action plan for growth.

Dr Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO, said:
“This is sensible news. Earlier this year TIGA published an agenda for the new Parliament which set out 30 policy proposals, including a detailed Games Tax Relief policy. All of these proposals can contribute to constructing a series of blueprints for reform within the creative industries.””

“TIGA looks forward to working with the Government in identifying the barriers it needs to remove to boost performance in the creative industries. TIGA looks forward to playing an integral role in developing these policies and playing an active part in any committee which is established.””
