On 23 July 2020, the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee published their report on the impact of coronavirus on the DCMS sectors.
The report concludes that the Government has been too slow to respond to the urgent needs of the sectors during the covid-19 outbreak, and that many organisations now face an “existential threat” to their survival.
The report also concludes that the loss of cultural workers would put at risk the Government’s ‘levelling up’ agenda, and reverse decades of progress in cultural provision, diversity and inclusion.
