Stainless Games is one of 252 organisations nationally to receive a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise, in recognition of its excellence in International Trade.

A total of 257 Awards are made, with five companies being recognised with two Awards.

Stainless Games was founded in 1994 on the Isle of Wight, UK and is a video game developer of international renown. Over the last 30 years, Stainless has made games for some of the biggest companies in the world, including Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Hasbro, with best-selling titles including Carmageddon, Risk: Factions, Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers and Scrabble.

Patrick Buckland (pictured, right), Stainless founder and CEO, said: “We created Stainless back in 1994 with the intention of bringing high-tech employment to the Isle of Wight by doing what we love: making video games. We started with eight staff and have since grown to over 80, and have made games for most of the biggest companies in the world as well as selling our own products globally. In doing so, we bring tens of millions into the UK economy, whilst providing enjoyment to people the world over. This is our thirtieth year in business and we’re very proud to mark the occasion with this King’s Award.”

The King’s Awards for Enterprise, previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, were renamed last year to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 58th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
