Grimsby Institute Games Development Programme joins TIGA

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Grimsby Institute Games Development Programme as their newest member.

The Institute has built an incredibly strong reputation in games design and development. The level 3 Edexcel Games Development programme, and the new BA Games Design are extremely focused, ensuring that the skills being taught in the classroom are relevant to the needs of the games industry.

The students participate in one on one sessions and career talks from industry specialist including; Gabe Newall (CEO Valve), Steve Lycett (Sumo Digital) and veteran game designer Jon Hare (Sensible/Tower Studios).

They operate a Skillset accredited media department, and the new University Centre – house incredible state of the art equipment and software, including multiple high-end computer labs; virtual ‘green screen’ studios and full motion capture facilities.

All the tutors delivering on the courses are ex-industry professionals – teaching from their vast collective experience. The main focus of the programme is to get the learners to design and build games – from concept to completion.
