Future Games of London joins TIGA

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games
industry, today announced Future Games of London as their newest member.

 

Future Games of London designs,
develops and publishes Smartphone and Tablet games. Founded in September 2009,
FGOL create wholly owned and original IP which by March 2012 had achieved over
36 million downloads worldwide. More than 6 million people play their games
every month and since the launch of their first title in April 2010, mobile
users around the world have spent a total of 3,967 years playing FGOL games. By
the end of 2010, one in twelve iPhones worldwide had an FGOL game installed on
it. They aim to reach over 100 million people by the end of 2012.

 

Titles such as Hungry Shark, Pool Bar, and Snooker Club
have been international best sellers, with FGOL number 1 hits now registered in
77 countries. They have a strong global presence, particularly in the USA
(40%), UK (10%), Japan (9%), South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Germany, France
and Italy.

 

Ian Harper, CEO of Future Games of London explains the
reason why he decided to join TIGA:

 

“As an independent games creator, TIGA allows us to
have a voice on issues that financially affect our business here in the UK. As
many more smaller independent studios spring up around the country the mix of
studios in the UK is rapidly changing away from large console studios, and so
new ideas and perspectives are needed for the times ahead. FGOL look forward to
help inform the debate and raising issues that affect independent game creators
and publishers selling direct to customers internationally.”
