Creative Wales is an internal agency of the Welsh Government that supports the growth and development of the creative industries in Wales, whilst also investing in skills and talent initiatives that train and upskill our workforce and create sustainable, long-term career opportunities for creatives in Wales.
Our work focuses on tailored support for the Games, Animation and Immersive Tech sectors, through offering access to a knowledgeable team that advise on funding, industry development and connecting people together. Support is offered to companies of all sizes at development stage, where we nurture new IP ideas from inception, and reward interesting and ambitious projects by guiding them through to the next important stages of development.
Our Games Scale-Up Fund for Wales, administered for us by UK Games Fund, was launched in November to offer Wales-based companies the vital funding needed to take their games projects to the next level; where they then have a greater chance of raising further investment, alongside accessing Production Funding – Creative Wales’ scheme for world-leading content for global audiences.
Our Production Funding scheme was established to support the growth of Wales as a destination for world class content, including Games. We are particularly interested in supporting companies that are implementing the latest practices in sustainable production and have the wellbeing of their employees at the forefront – whether they are freelancers, contractors or permanent staff. We welcome enquiries from companies outside of Wales who would like to understand more about the support available for making games in Wales.
