Chris Kingsley, Chair of TIGA’s Education Committee, has been made an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for his services to the economy.
Chris Kingsley is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and co-founder of Rebellion, one of the top independent game developers in the world.
Founded in 1992, by brothers Chris and Jason Kingsley OBE, Rebellion has grown from an ambitious start-up to a world-leading games developer with over 300 employees in 3 offices in the UK (Oxford, Runcorn and Leamington Spa).
Rebellion has produced more than 85 games, including recent critically acclaimed and commercially successful games such as Sniper Elite 4, Star Wars Battlefront, and Battlezone. To date, Rebellion has had 32 worldwide Number One hits.
Chris has also shown an important commitment to enhancing the skills base of the UK video games industry. He serves as Chairman of TIGA’s Education Committee. In this role he has promoted TIGA Accreditation of university games courses. This is helping to promote best practice in higher education and to highlight good quality courses to students and to employers. He also serves as Chair of the Games Council at ScreenSkills.
