London – Friday 13th November 2015: TIGA, the independent games association, today announces the winners of the 2015 TIGA Awardsfollowing a glittering ceremony held on 12th November at LSO St Luke’s in London, to celebrate the best in creativity, innovation and business in the UK games industry.
18 months on from the introduction of tax breaks for the UK games industry, the great and the good of UK games development came together under one roof in a celebration of the excellence of small and large games companies making incredibly creative and inspiring work over the past year. The public vote for the TIGA Game of the Year Award broke last year’s record to receive nearly 30,000 individual votes, demonstrating the growing popularity of the awards, which are designed to recognise and reward games businesses of all sizes.
TIGA’s charity partner for the 2015 awards was SpecialEffect, an organisation dedicated to using technology to enhance the quality of life of people with physical disabilities.
Dr Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO, said: “The TIGA Awards are designed to commend, congratulate and celebrate. At our Awards Ceremony last night we applauded and highlighted excellence in games and business, education and technology, diversity and creativity. I would like to say a huge congratulations to all of our winners, whose creativity and excellence is driving the games industry forward.”
“Our judges were pleased to have the challenging task of judging work that has the power to stop us in our tracks. Well done again to everyone that entered, those who were shortlisted and those who eventually won. We would also like to thank all of our generous sponsors and partners, as well as everyone who has supported the awards.”
