Games developers compete to a critical extent on the quality of their teams.

The TIGA College Accreditation Scheme identifies colleges that deliver relevant game development skills to their students, preparing them for moving on to game industry relevant degree courses or for starting a career in the games industry.

The TIGA College Accreditation Scheme appraises the resources and courses at colleges to ensure that students are able to gain games industry relevant skills. When Accreditation is awarded to a college it covers the delivery of game development material at the college, either within a single course or across a number of courses. Students at a TIGA Accredited College can be confident that the college has the resources to support their learning. TIGA accredited colleges go beyond the basic delivery of course materials and have a culture that supports independent learning and include enrichment activities.

The TIGA College Accreditation Scheme requires colleges to complete an application form where they detail staff, hardware and software resources; list relevant courses and enrichment activities; give course results and student destinations. After a successful application is made a site visit is arranged so that a team of TIGA Educational Advisors and industry professionals can see the college and meet with staff and students. Once TIGA is confident the college is meeting the highest standards Accreditation is granted, differentiating the college from other institutions that have not yet achieved accreditation.

Any educational organisation or institution offering video games courses at Level 3 may apply for TIGA College Accreditation. For example, Academies can apply for TIGA Accreditation.
