INDUSTRY PRIDE: Previous TIGA Awards winners reflect on what recognition means

By July 17, 2025 No Comments

Every year, the TIGA Games Industry Awards honour the best and brightest in UK and global games – recognising the studios, publishers, and creators driving innovation, creativity, and community impact. More than just a night of celebration, the Awards are a moment for teams to pause and reflect on their achievements.

With entries open for the 2025 Awards (note: the deadline is July 25th), we’re spotlighting some of 2024’s most exciting winners and what their TIGA recognition meant to them.

For many, a TIGA Award represents more than just professional validation – it’s a celebration of teamwork, perseverance, and passion.

Patrick O’Luanaigh, CEO at nDreams, shared how much their Best Publisher win meant: “We were delighted to win the Best Publisher award at the TIGA Awards this year. It means a lot to us – we’ve been self-publishing for a long time, but it has been a real joy working recently with companies like FuturLab, MeatSpace Interactive and Purple Yonder and growing our third-party publishing team. We’re really happy to be recognised for this.”

Henry Hoffman from Newfangled Games reflected on the emotional impact of their win for Best Casual Game and Creativity in Games: “The whole Newfangled team is absolutely over the moon to win the Best Casual and Creativity in Games Award at the TIGA Awards. We’ve been heads-down working on Paper Trail for 5 years, so to be able to bring the team to an event which is such a celebration of UK talent has been hugely rewarding.”

For Arrowhead Game Studios, the award was a tribute to the spirit of their team and community: “It’s a huge honour to be recognised in the TIGA 2024 Awards and a testament to the passion and creativity of the development team at Arrowhead Game Studios. We’re so grateful to TIGA, our industry peers and the player community for their support and recognition.”

And from across the pond, Naughty Dog offered a heartfelt message following their recognition: “Thank you to TIGA from the entire team at Naughty Dog. We’re incredibly honoured to have our work recognised alongside so many other incredible games. Our studio has a deep commitment to the craft of storytelling, and winning an award like this continues to inspire us as we strive to create experiences that resonate with players. Thank you for this honour.”

From indie breakthroughs to AAA excellence, the TIGA Awards continue to spotlight the talent shaping the future of games – and the impact that recognition can have on the people behind the projects.
