What it means to win a TIGA Games Industry Award

By July 15, 2025 No Comments

The TIGA Games Industry Awards are a celebration of excellence across the UK games industry, shining a spotlight on the innovation, creativity, and leadership that drive our sector forward. As we look ahead to this year’s ceremony – which takes place on November 4th at the prestigious Hurlingham Club in London – we’re taking a look at some of last year’s winners. Let them inspire you to nominate yourself! Entries close on July 25th

These awards don’t just recognise success – they amplify it. Just ask some of 2024’s stand-out winners.

Simon Iwaniszak, Studio Director at Red Kite Games, was honoured with the Outstanding Leadership Award, recognising his long-standing contribution to UK games development. Reflecting on the accolade, Simon shared:

“It’s an honour to have received the TIGA Outstanding Leadership Award. When I founded Red Kite Games well over a decade ago, I didn’t set out to win awards, I set out to make great games with a team of lovely people, and I get to do that each and every day. Thank you to TIGA for the recognition and thank you to the entire Red Kite team.”

Meanwhile, The Chinese Room won big with awards for Audio Design and Heritage in Games for its atmospheric and critically acclaimed title Still Wakes the Deep:

“We are deeply honoured to receive the 2024 TIGA Games Industry Awards for Audio Design and Heritage in Games. These accolades celebrate the passion and dedication our team poured into bringing this haunting story on the North Sea to life. We’re profoundly grateful to our peers and players for recognising the artistry, care, and ambition that define everything we strive for at The Chinese Room.”

Patrick Buckland of Stainless Games received a special honour for his decades of contribution to the industry, acknowledging both his personal journey and the resilience of his studio. He said:

“This award was completely unexpected, but I am hugely proud of having received it. It reflects on all the people at Stainless, not just me… Sharing the stress of keeping an independent company alive in a shark-infested global market for thirty years has never been easy. Thank you TIGA for this unique honour.”

These testimonials reflect what the TIGA Games Industry Awards are all about – recognition from industry peers, a spotlight on hard work, and a celebration of creative achievement.

Now it’s your turn.

Whether you’re a development studio, publisher, educator or service provider, don’t miss your chance to be recognised. The deadline for nominations for the 2025 TIGA Games Industry Awards is July 25th.
