TIGA shortlisted for two awards for Games Tax Relief campaign

TIGA, the trade associationrepresenting the UK games industry, has been shortlisted for two prestigious
awards. 

The organization is shortlisted for the
Public Affairs Award and the Not-For-Profit and Charity Award at this year’s
Public Relations Consultants Association Awards (PRCA). Both are for TIGA’s
Campaign for Games Tax Relief. 

In the Not-For-Profit and Charity
Award, TIGA is up against Mischief, Unity, Citizen Brando, Tricker, Tonic,
Kaper:, Shelter Scotland, Asthma UK, the NSPCC and Legacy 10.  

In the Public Affairs Award, the other
shortlisted organizations are Betting Pitch Battle 2012, Fleishman Hillard,
Orbit Communications, Partner of Promotion, Glasshouse Partnership, Grayling,
Honover, GoughBailyWright, Queen’s University Belfast and AOA. 

More than 100 judges were involved in
the short-listing process and the Awards ceremony will be held on November 13
in London.

UK games industry and securing an effective Games Tax Relief is critical to
this objective. Games Tax Relief will be a major boost to the sector when it
arrives in April 2013 and TIGA continues to work closely with the Government to
ensure that it will be implemented in a way that is beneficial to games
developers and digital publishers. I’d like to thank the TIGA team and TIGA’s
members for enabling us to progress Games Tax Relief. It is a great honour to
be shortlisted as a finalist in two PRCA Awards.”
