On Thursday 23 April 2020, the Government has published new advice to help people, and particularly children, stay safe throughout the coronavirus outbreak.

As more people stay at home following the ‘Stay Home, Save Lives’ initiative, more people than ever are working from home and many more children are using the internet for education, entertainment and socialising purposes. Due to this, there is inevitably increased risks of exposure to online harms.

To combat this, the Government have published a full set of guidance and a four-point plan. The plan recommends reviewing safety and security settings on devices, fact-checking, being vigilant against fraud and managing the amount of time spent online.
