On Thursday 9 April 2020, Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, was mentioned in the Daily Express article ‘UK gaming industry chief issues warning about effects of coronavirus on industry.’
The article discusses the problems that the video games sector is facing in the face of coronavirus. For example, the difficulties that small and medium sizes games businesses are having in accessing venture capital finance, decreasing revenues from advertising, and the difficulties encountered when having to work entirely from home.
The article also reinforces TIGA’s call for faster processing of Video Games Tax Relief, and the introduction of a Video Games Investment Fund which would provide pound for pound matched funding, up to a maximum of £500,000, for original games projects.
