Utopian World of Sandwiches joins TIGA

By April 2, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Utopian World of Sandwiches as their newest member.

Utopian World of Sandwiches is an independent games studio based in Cambridge. They make fun and quirky games with substance for console, computer, web and mobile. They aim to ensure that the player’s experiences and emotions are the most important drivers behind the design of their games.

The company was formed by James Woodrow (Game Designer / Graphic Artist), Sarah Lacy (UX Designer / Illustrator) and Adam Barclay (Software Architect / Games Programmer) in 2011. They currently have two games in the pipeline ready to be released within the next few months. Their first game is a frantic multiplayer game, designed to be played with your family and friends, a game that will make you laugh, and scream and shout with each other. The new release Chompy Chomp Chomp is for Xbox 360 and PC. They will soon be releasing Atomic Bunny on Xbox 360, PC, iPhone and Android.

James Woodrow of Utopian World of Sandwiches explains the reason why he decided to join TIGA:

“TIGA has a strong reputation for supporting new start-ups and independent developers as well as larger companies. We feel that by joining TIGA we are showing our commitment to the future of the UK games industry. We believe that the fantastic opportunities that TIGA offer through networking, information and support will help us work towards our dream of bringing happiness to people through our games for years to come.”

Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO welcomed the organisation to TIGA:

“It is hugely encouraging to see new start-ups in the UK video games sector, particularly ones such as Utopian World of Sandwiches, with their original approach to games development and zest for the industry. TIGA is dedicated to enabling start-up studios fulfil their potential and so we are delighted to welcome Utopian World of Sandwiches to TIGA. We hope that they enjoy consuming TIGA’s services in the months and years ahead.”
