By March 1, 2013 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK
games industry, has welcomed Revival
Retro Events
as its latest member.

The company has been behind large events including The Retro Ball which took place in December 2005, one
in 2008 and one earmarked for this year. The events have attracted big industry
names including Archer Maclean, Oliver Twins, Jon Hare, the late Richard
Joseph, David Whittaker and Rob Hubbard.

It
has also published four issues of Retro Fusion magazine (0, 1, 2 and 3) with
the fifth coming out in May this year.

That
will coincide with a Revival Retro event on the 18th and 19th May at Dunstall
Park, Wolverhampton.

Many
ex-Ocean and Gremlin Graphics employees are attending including Archer Maclean,
The Oliver Twins, Allister Brimble and Mike Montgomery. More than 40 arcade
machines and pinball machines will be there and the event will host traders,
talks, retro computers and consoles to play on. It hopes to attract 800
attendees per day.

Organiser
Chris Wilkins is looking for sponsorship for the events and for any one who
wishes to showcase their games and talent to get in touch. More details are
available at revivalretroevents.com

Chris Wilkins,
organiser of Revival Retro, said:

“Revival is an all new annual two-day retro gaming
event ,promising countless arcade machines, pinball tables, pachinkos, consoles
and the chance to meet some gaming celebrities. This upcoming event is being
put together and led by both Turnarcades, the custom arcade machine
manufacturers, and the brains behind the Retro Fusion magazine. The duo are
promising nothing but retro gaming at Revival, hoping to lure in the die-hards
from around the country disheartened by the sight of modern consoles. Taking
place in Wolverhampton Racecourse on the 18th and 19th of May 2013, the event
will feature free to play arcade machines and pinball machines, consoles and
computers from years gone by, and even a section dedicated to the homebrew
community. But more interestingly Revival has promised retro gamers several
heroes from our gaming past such as the Dizzy creators, the Oliver Twins many
from the old OceanSoftware stable.”

Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, said:

“The work being carried out
by Chris and his team is helping to showcase gaming's history in the UK. It is
important that our industry’s heritage is not forgotten – it has inspired generations of
developers. We know the company is keen to get TIGA members involved and we
believe this would be of great benefit to them as well as a whole lot of fun.”
