The Government announces ‘Jump Start’ for the UK’s Creative Industries

By July 30, 2020 No Comments

On 28 July 2020, the Government announced a new £500 million Film and TV Production Scheme to kickstart film and television production. The scheme is designed to give productions the confidence they need that they will be supported if future losses are incurred due to Covid-19, and fill the gap left by the lack of available insurance. The scheme is also designed to cover coronavirus-related losses for cast member and crew illnesses and filming delays or disruptions. More information on this scheme can be found here.

The British Film Institute, Arts Council England, Historic England and National Lottery Heritage Fund have also published guidance and criteria for applicants.
