The Connected Marketplace deploys Antix Game Service into the living room and around the home

By October 2, 2012 TIGA News

Industry pioneer for on-demandcontent to offer end-to-end, share and play Antix Game Service

 The Connected Marketplace, through
its acquisition of BIBC, has been at the forefront of content delivery over IP
networks for a decade bringing together key players in Telecoms, Media and
Technology. The company offers a combination of leading edge technology, sector
‘know-how’ and premium brand content. Today its clients include an array of the
leading consumer electronics manufacturers.

As part of its drive
to remain at the forefront of service offerings, The Connected Marketplace is
now collaborating with Antix Labs, the Reading-based entertainment provider
offering the Antix ‘share & play’ game service to operators, broadcasters,
manufacturers and other service providers around the world. The Connected
Marketplace customers will be able to deploy Antix games to consumers, games
that can be played on connected, Antix-enabled devices. Games can be shared
across the internet or can be distributed off-network via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and
Wi-Fi Direct.

“Apple has set
expectations in the market that games can be distributed and played between
mobile and home devices; its competition struggle because, unlike Apple, they
have device fragmentation. This has traditionally stopped users from being able
to copy, share, challenge and play. Antix products and services incorporate
capabilities that games can be shared and played between users even if playing
across different devices with different chipsets and software”, said Brian
Phillpotts, Director of The Connected Marketplace.

Francis Charig, Chief
Executive of Antix Labs said,
“The Connected Marketplace is working with many
of the world’s leading CE manufacturers deploying premium content services and
has enormous experience in delivering services into the home. Antix is thrilled
that we can be collaborating to enable our services to The Connected
Marketplace’s clients around the world.”

NOTES FOR EDITORS

About Antix Labs, Ltd. (Antix):
Antix has developed the Antix Game Player incorporating a consumer-focused distribution file format and service
that makes games even more viral than music and video whilst still protecting
the rights and the revenues of the developers. It enables consumers to copy,
share, challenge and play with others not only via a service provider’s network
but also off-network by means of wireless technologies such as Bluetooth and
Wi-Fi Direct. Antix connects consumers across feature phones and smartphones,
tablets, TVs, set top boxes, PCs and other devices even when a provider’s
network is inaccessible, intermittent, slow or full as is the reality in home
and on mobile across most of the world. The company offers the Game Player,
corresponding tools, certification mechanism, optional white-label store and an
optional game warehouse necessary to deploy a complete service offering. The
Antix Game Service is being used as a core gaming component by major operators,
broadcasters, device manufacturers and retailers across the globe.
Headquartered in the Reading Enterprise Centre in Reading, England and with
offices in America and Asia, Antix was founded by Francis Charig, its current Chief Executive and a World
