First Major Cross-Platform Title in Indonesia Sets the Standard for Future Game Services

March 6th 2013, Reading – SpeedUp Technologies, headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, announces today its public launch and availability of the freemium version of PopCap's wildly successful Plants vs. Zombies title on its SpeedUp Studio Store. This is expected to be the first in an ongoing series of launches of popular Western titles from major publishing partners many of whom have had only limited presence in Indonesia in the past.

SpeedUp Studio content is positioned to provide Indonesia with high-quality, high-definition content that spans music, movies, ebooks, and games, all from established worldwide brands. This is clear move away from low-value, commodity content and toward the high-value content that consumers demand for all their devices, both in the home and on the move.

SpeedUp is using the Antix Game Player to power its deployment of Plants vs. Zombies and has pre-loaded the Antix Game Player onto its tablets, the SpeedUp Pad Slim and Pad PRO 2. SpeedUp’s latest tablets, Pad 7 and SpeedUp Pad 8, will be launched at Mega Bazaar Computer Jakarta on 7th March 2013, offering Antix-formatted games through its SpeedUp Studio content store.

Due to Antix' revolutionary game distribution and delivery technology, consumers will be able to directly share Plants vs. Zombies and a forthcoming list of similarly impressive titles with friends using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, or other convenient methods that require neither mobile data connectivity nor corresponding depletion of precious prepaid data minutes. Of course, consumers will still be able to download the game directly from the store anytime they so desire.

Antix' founder, Francis Charig, said “SpeedUp is opening up channels for western content into the world’s fourth most populous nation and is providing the first iteration of Plants vs. Zombies using a Freemium user payment model all running on the Antix Game Player and service. By having this integrated with operator billing, SpeedUp has taken the Indonesian game market forward dramatically so I think this will be seen as a significant development by those looking to address growth and emerging economies.”

– PRESS RELEASE –
Rahmad Sakti, Director Product and Marketing at PT MLW Telecom (“SpeedUp”), said that “This launch of Plants vs. Zombies is a major win for SpeedUp and its customers as it represents our commitment to delivering high quality games to consumers both when connected to advanced networks in big cities and when they are in more remote areas that lack consistent access to such connectivity. It is only because of the extraordinary Antix service that this SpeedUp is able to offer this kind of quality content, performance, and social interaction.”
