SpeedUp Debuts Latest Tablets Pre-Loaded with Antix Game Player

By March 5, 2013 No Comments

SpeedUp Technologies has announced in Jakarta, Indonesia that it has adopted game solutions from Antix Labs to augment its SpeedUp Studio content service. Antix provides SpeedUp’s customers with the ability to play and share across tablets, phones, TVs, STBs, PCs and other devices. As part of its increased emphasis on content services, SpeedUp has begun preloading the Antix Game Player (AGP) into its latest tablets, the SpeedUp Pad Pro and SpeedUp Pad Ice, and now offers Antix-formatted games through its SpeedUp Studio content store. Among its initial offerings, the first featured title is Plants vs. Zombies with a pipeline of similar high-quality games to follow. This initiative represents a major move away from low-value, commodity game aggregation services that ultimately disappoint customers and towards high-quality games that engage them.

This combination of the SpeedUp Studio content hub and the on-device Antix Game Player provides consumers with a unique and seamless game experience. Publishers around the world are seeking to deploy seamless games and Antix uniquely provides a solution across fragmented networks both in the home and on the move. In addition to traditional store downloads, Antix-formatted game files can be shared directly between friends' devices by “beaming” over off-network wireless technologies including Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct, a capability that is in high-demand in Indonesia and other emerging and growth markets where networks often struggle to satisfy consumer bandwidth demands.

Rahmad Sakti, Director Product and Marketing at PT MLW Telecom (“SpeedUp”), said that
“The Indonesian telecommunication networks, like many in Southeast Asia, are faced with structural challenges, making them neither consistently fast enough nor reliable enough to meet the insatiable demands of consumers to discover and download games. The Antix Game Player relieves the frustration caused by these challenges, making every coffee shop meeting between friends into an opportunity to get new games. No other service or technology on the planet provides this level of integration across devices. While other companies continue to struggle with fragmentation and network dependencies, SpeedUp and Antix together are delivering the right solution at exactly the right time.”

Antix’s Francis Charig said that
“Comprehensive game services in growth and emerging markets must take into account local infrastructure and behavioural issues to satisfy the local demographic and their service providers. Antix is unique in offering a service that does this- PRESS RELEASE -while simultaneously protecting the rights and revenues of the Publishers.”-
