Grindhead Games joins TIGA

By August 29, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA, the tradeassociation representing the UK games industry, has welcomed Grindhead Games as
its latest member.

The indie studio specialises
in mobile and web game development and it is made up of a small collective of
professionals who possess a wide set of skills.
It was founded in early 2012
from tiny premises but the organisation's capacity to think big means it has
created and released games and applications that are being used by millions of
people across the world.

One of its flagship titles
is the fun, family friendly, self-funded platform game Cowloful which was
released earlier this year. It became a hugely successful game that received a
high number of plays across many portals on the web. The game users colour,
humour and a sense of magic to engage users and allow them to explore the weird
and wonderful 2D world Grindhead created. Built upon the Box2D engine, Cowloful
was sponsored by Armor Games and a sequel is due to be released next year.

Grindhead Games, which
launched with no funding from any investors and has become profitable within
the first year of trading, is working on two indie projects: Davey Jones: Lost
Souls, which is built in HTML 5 using the ImpactJS engine, and a RPG called:
Enola: Prelude which will feature a deep storyline married with Final Fantasy
style gameplay.

Craig Beswetherick, the
director of Grindhead Games, said:
“We decided to join TIGA because of the many benefits the organisation
has to offer indie game development studios like ourselves. TIGA provides us
with very useful advice, networking opportunities as well as many other
benefits which are invaluable to a fledgling startup company such as us.”

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of
TIGA, said:
“Grindhead Games has impressed us with its slick,
fun and unique games . We know that Grindhead is looking to save money on
attending events and purchasing software and that it wants to gather a better
understanding of the Government’s view around the games
industry which we can provide. We are more than happy to have them on board and
we look forward to working with them.”

Grindhead Games is currently looking for BETA testers for Enola:
