Enterprise Europe Network North West (EENW) is offering a free, exclusive package to SMEs in the North West looking to visit Gamescom in August 2013.
Gamescom is the world’s largest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment, and EENW is providing support to businesses in the North West who wish to take advantage of the growing games industry.
EENW, the North West’s leading EU business support network, is hosting a lunch event on 16 July where it will explain how North West businesses can get support to grab a slice of the billion pound gaming industry. It will also present the special exhibitor package that EENW is offering to potential attendees at Gamescom. The packages are aimed at assisting games developers, distributors and publishers, or companies providing services or content in the gaming industry. Key items on the agenda include: maximising attendance and sales opportunities, presentation of the missions to Gamescom and Mobile World Congress in February 2014, and support and funding available to SMEs.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-to-one basis with UKTI and EENW advisers about their specific requirements. Speakers at the event include: Rodolphe Soulard, Senior European Business Adviser at EENW, and Gill Barlow, International Trade Advisor at UK Trade and Investment.
The region’s digital and creative sector is the second largest in Europe. It makes up more than 10 per cent of the North West workforce in this sector and generates more than 15 per cent of the region’s Gross Value Added. With digital hubs in both Manchester and Liverpool, regional economic growth may well depend on this pivotal sector.
Rodolphe Soulard at EENW said: “Games developers, distributors and publishers should seriously consider a journey to Gamescom, as it is a key event in the annual calendar where all the big names are in one place.
“We understand that professionals want to make the most of their visit and be able to relate immediately to the ‘bottom line’, which is why we have put together bespoke packages that include pre-arranged one-to-one meetings with potential clients.”
