Aurora exceeds 10 million visits in PlayStation®Home

By February 26, 2013 No Comments

Digital publisher nDreams is pleased to
announce that Aurora, one of the first free-to-play console games, has now had more
than ten million visits since it launched. The floating archipelago was
released in March 2011 in the PlayStation Home virtual world, which is
exclusive to the PlayStation®3 console. Aurora
continues to expand and evolve, and the latest major update to Aurora (version 1.7)
will launch next month.

Announcing the milestone, nDreams CEO,
Patrick O’Luanaigh said

“We’re incredibly proud of Aurora and
the players who have helped make this such a successful virtual space. We don’t
shout about ourselves very often, but nDreams continues to grow with a clear
focus – to remain one of the leading publishers in PlayStation Home whilst
becoming known for exciting and unique tablet games. We’re on track to launch a
number of tablet based titles this year that we hope will demonstrate our distinctive
approach to free-to-play development. We’d like to publically thank Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) for
their continuing support on PlayStation Home, a highly underrated platform with
a large, smart and passionate community, and we hope to continue our strong
relationship with SCE moving forwards alongside our growth into tablet gaming.”

As well as virtual clothing and
locomotions, recent PlayStation Home launches have included larger games such
as Xi: Continuum, F.U.B.A.R and Blueprint: Home. nDreams also create a range of
apartments and clubhouses, like the forthcoming “Carla’s Coffee Shop”.

Over 80% of nDreams revenue comes from
publishing their own original IP. As well as PlayStation Home and tablet,
nDreams also develop for the Xbox Avatar Marketplace.
