Designed by small business experts at the UK’s business schools, the 12-week course provides SME business leaders with the knowledge, support and confidence to boost their leadership skills and business performance.
There is no complicated eligibility criteria or application process. Senior decision makers working for a UK business employing between 5 and 249 employees, and trading for more than a year, can participate in the course.
The course consists of a mix of online and face-to-face modules and requires around 4 hours a week for 12 weeks, allowing small business leaders to continue working in their business. 90% government funded, the course costs £750 and includes:
- modules on strategy and innovation; employee engagement; vision, mission and values; building a more agile business; and improving operational and financial efficiency
- 10 hours of 1-to-1 business mentoring to help business leaders apply learnings direct to their business and develop a Growth Action Plan
- peer learning and discussion sessions
