By November 23, 2020 No Comments

On Wednesday 2 December 2020, TIGA will be partnering with ScreenSkills on a workshop, designed to help ScreenSkills determine which skills and knowledge are required to work in job roles related to gaming and interactive media.

The workshop will provide TIGA members with the chance to participate and share views on the proposed skills and knowledge requirements needed to successfully work in jobs in the industry.

The workshop will be held between 14.00 – 15.30pm.

If you wish to attend, please get in touch with Dr Richard Wilson OBE, CEO of TIGA on Richard.wilson@tiga.org, so that TIGA can send over joining details and further information.

More information on ScreenSkills:

Every year, ScreenSkills reviews and updates existing national occupational standards (NOS). NOS are statements of what someone needs ‘to do’ and ‘to know’ to perform a job role. These standards are used to underpin apprenticeships and help to guide the development of courses at all levels, as well as being a resource for industry to support recruitment and management activities across the UK.

To ensure that standards reflect current practise, we have developed a Functional Map detailing key functions of job roles in Interactive Media and Computer Games. ScreenSkills would like to capture the views of TIGA members on any skills gaps and emerging job functions.

The NOS developed as part of this process will be considered as best practice guidance for this industry therefore it is essential that key stakeholders take part in defining what these should be.
