TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, has welcomed Fat Pebble as its latest member.

Fat Pebble is an independent games studio making quirky games with mass appeal. It creates hand-made and hand-animated games. Its stop motion animation gives it a unique look and inspires creativity, innovation and fun.

Fat Pebble began life as Funbulb in July 2010, before changing name several months later. Originally founded by Michael Movel, Iain and Chris joined him at the end of 2011 and they started work on their first original title, Clay Jam, which is its first original title, out now on iOS and Android and coming soon on Leap Motion’s Airspace. Clay Jam is a monster action game made entirely out of clay.

Fat Pebble is well-recognised in the industry. It has been nominated for several awards, including a BAFTA, PocketGamer award and Develop award. It has an average user rating of nearly 5/5 on both Android and iOS and Clay Jam has had more than five million downloads.

Founder Michael Movel said:
“As a young up and coming company, we feel that we can benefit from the resources of an organisation like TIGA. We like the idea of the UK game-making community coming together and helping one another and TIGA provide a great framework to make that happen. We’re also looking to get more of a presence in overseas markets. Partnering with TIGA will help us make the right connections to do that.”

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, said:
“We warmly welcome Fat Pebble as new members of TIGA and we aim to help the team at Fat Pebble to build additional relationships with developers and publishers. TIGA is well-placed to help smaller companies grow with many networking events and other forms of support.”
