Naked Penguin Boy joins TIGA

By June 15, 2011 Press Releases

TIGA,the trade association representing the UK games industry, today announced Naked
Penguin Boy as its newest member.

Naked
Penguin Boy (NPB) is a digital agency that focuses on engaging digital
communications. The company,
celebrating their 10th birthday this year, was formed in May 2001
and has gone from strength to strength, picking up big name clients including
Paramount, Dreamworks, Nickelodeon and Universal Pictures to name a few. The fact that the majority of their clients
have come through recommendation is a testament to the quality of the work that
the company delivers.

NPB
is best known for games design and development in addition to games based
marketing techniques. They have
developed hugely successful game strategies over the years which now overlap
into their digital marketing strategies and the company is now using these
techniques in social media, websites and other marketing strategies because of
how well they work.

NPB
has built up an impressive library of games over the years and plans are afoot
to launch a number of these on Blackberry’s Playbook device. Most recently the company has been developing
‘Feed The Bears’ and ‘Dunky Dough Balls’ which are just about to be released on
the Playbook.

Feed
The Bears is due for release later in the year, it’s an arcade style game where
the user has to draw ‘trampo-lines’ on the screen in order to get the right
type of berries to feed the correct bear.
Some bears eat Blueberries, some eat Raspberries, some eat Gooseberries,
but they all enjoy Blackberries. A
number of obstacles along the way make the game a bit tricky as you progress.

Dunky
Dough Balls is due for release towards the end of June. It’s an arcade/puzzle game which includes approx
32 levels. The aim of the game is to
guide your bouncing dough ball through a series of mazes in order to reach the
sauce bowl. There are evil splats to
slow you down and deadly knives that will return you to the start of the level.
The game is time based and you are
awarded stars depending on how fast you can complete a level. Suitable for all ages, it’s easy to learn and
has in-game walkthrough tutorials.

Both
games will initially be offered as a free version with the option to buy an
upgrade.

Greg
Heasley, Interactive Director and Founding Partner, Naked Penguin Boy,
explained the company’s reasons for joining TIGA:

“Why
make life more difficult? Join up,
network with people that do what you do, and see how we can help each
other. Our plan now is to build a larger
team of in-house Mobile and Tablet developers and designers in order to
continue building our games under the NPB brand. TIGA is a great place to meet interesting
people with the same or similar objectives in mind and share ideas and
experiences that could potentially lead to something new and exciting. The resources and assistance offered by TIGA
for the UK Games industry is second to none.””

Richard
Wilson, TIGA CEO, commented:

“NPB
has great design, development and marketing expertise in the casual games
industry and they are well placed to make the most of new platforms such as
Blackerry’s Playbook device. At TIGA we are committed to enabling developers to
achieve their potential through a range of services and networking. We are delighted
to welcome NPB to TIGA and we are looking forward to working with NPB over the
coming months.””
